The Mandalorian Chapter 5: Who is That Mystery Character?

If you've seen the latest episode of The Mandalorian, there's a huge chance you're wondering about the mystery character that showed up in Chapter Five: The Gunslinger. So who is this unexpected character and will they play a major role in the upcoming episodes of the Star Wars series?

SPOILERS AHEAD! PROCEED WITH CAUTION!

In Chapter Five, Ming-Na Wen was finally introduced as Fennec Shand, the mercenary with a huge bounty on her head. Mando's new acquaintance Toro Calican believes that he would be accepted into the bounty hunter guild if he could bring her in and asks Mando to help him. Mando accepts as long as he claims the bounty and although he managed to capture Fennec, the mercenary tries to turn the tables on him.

After Fennec tells Toro that Mando is more valuable than she is, she tries to get him to work with her in bringing Mando in. Unfortunately, Toro decides to do away with Fennec and kills her so he could take the bounty for Mando himself.

Fennec might look dead but still manages to deliver a surprise at the end of the episode. At the last moment, Fennec's body is approached by a figure who might be the person she was supposed to meet up with. But who is this jangling character dressed in black?

If you're hoping this is Obi-Wan Kenobi (after all, the episode is set in Tatooine), we might have some bad news for you. There is a bigger chance that Fennec's rendezvous is actually a new character who has yet to be introduced in The Mandalorian. Screenrant suggests that we just got a glimpse at Moff Gideon, who could finally show up in the next episode.
