Star Wars Fans React to Ming-Na Wen's Fennec Shand in The Mandalorian Chapter 5

The latest episode of The Mandalorian has finally introduced Ming-Na Wen's Fennec Shand and the Star Wars character's debut already has people talking.

Before we begin, there's going to be a lot of major spoilers from The Mandalorian's fifth episode Chapter Five: The Gunslinger so it's probably best to watch the whole thing before moving forward. If you've already done that, let's get into it.

In Chapter Five, Mando ends up in a cantina in Mos Eisley (yes, THAT cantina) where he meets Toro, a wannabe bounty hunter who thinks capturing Fennec is the best way to be accepted into the guild. Toro somehow convinces Mando to go after the mercenary to pay for the Razor Crest's repair (it was damaged earlier in a dogfight).

Although Mando manages to capture Fennec, the sharpshooter still has a trick up her sleeve. She tells Toro that Mando is more valuable for betraying the guild and that they should work together to take him in. In response, Toro shoots Fennec and decides to take Mando back on his own.

Naturally, people were greatly concerned about Fennec's brief appearance on the show.

On the other hand, some think that Fennec will be back really soon.

Overall, Star Wars fans are loving Wen's awesome new character.

There have been several hints that Fennec isn't really dead (like, seriously, she can't just go out like that). The final moment in The Gunslinger, where someone approaches her body, might actually be proof of that. For now, we'll have to wait until next week to find out with Fennec will be back.

The fifth episode of The Mandalorian is currently streaming on Disney+.
