Grogu's true connection to the Jedi and Order 66 has been puzzling fans of The Mandalorian for quite some time now. Thankfully, the latest chapter of the hit Star Wars series finally dove into the Force-wielding Child's rich history and in the process, debunked a number of long-standing theories surrounding his miraculous salvation from the purge.

Chapter 20 gave viewers an extended flashback scene of Grogu's horrific Order 66 experience and after much speculation, we finally learned how Baby Yoda escaped the Sith onslaught. The identity of the person who saved Grogu has long been theorized by fans with one persistent name making the list of potential saviors.

According to one popular theory, Mace Windu who was believed to have died at the hands of Palpatine was the one who rescued Grogu. Of course, the idea of Samuel L. Jackson's purple lightsaber wielder seems plausible but apparently, he wasn't in the scene during Grogu's Coruscant escape.

In a jaw-dropping twist, it was revealed that a Jedi named Kelleran Beq actually saved Baby Yoda from Order 66. The character, who makes his second Star Wars appearance was played by prequel trilogy star and Jar Jar Binks actor Ahmed Best.

Kelleran's addition to the saga is a welcome inclusion but I gotta say, Mace Windu saving Grogu from the Jedi purge would have easily been an iconic Star Wars moment. That's not to say though that their paths won't cross because we still don't know Mace's true status. Even Jackson himself believes that the character is still alive and is just lurking somewhere in a galaxy far, far away.

The latest episode of The Mandalorian Season 3 is now streaming on Disney+.
