There is little doubt that Craig Mazin did something amazing with the first season of The Last of Us and it looks like Denis Villeneuve took notice. The co-showrunner of the HBO series just revealed his involvement with Dune: Part 2.

Craig Mazin Confirms Unexpected Involvement With Dune: Part 2

It's no secret that Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann came up with great things in The Last of Us Season 1. Not surprisingly, it has led to Mazin being called for other major projects including Dune: Part II.

In a recent interview on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, Mazin admitted he was involved with the highly anticipated sequel.

"They have this additional 'literary material' thing at the end so I am 'Additional Literary Material,'" Mazin explained.

We're not exactly sure what this means but it's awesome to know that Craig Mazin is involved with the sequel. Needless to say, we can't wait to see what happens in Dune: Part II.

Dune: Part II will bring back Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya, Rebecca Ferguson, Josh Brolin, Dave Bautista, Stephen McKinley Henderson, Stellan Skarsgård, and Charlotte Rampling.

Also returning is Javier Bardem, who admitted he was thrilled when he was asked to reprise his role as Stilgar in the sequel.

"Amazing," Bardem said of filming for Dune: Part 2. "I mean, what another gift that life brought to me, and I don't know what I did to deserve that."

The sequel will feature new cast members Florence Pugh, Austin Butler, Léa Seydoux, and Christopher Walken. The film hits theaters on November 3, 2023.

Meanwhile, Craig Mazin is set to begin working on the second season of his HBO series later this year. The Last of Us Season 2 has not yet been given an official release date but is expected to premiere in 2025. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
