The Last of Us Fans Deny Florence Pugh Should Play This One Controversial Character for Season 2

HBO’s The Last of Us is coming to an end soon and with The Last of Us Season 2 on our tails, fans are already expecting which actors are set to play the new upcoming characters that were introduced in the Naughty Dog video game part II. While fans have a pretty good idea on who will be Season 2’s Dina, some MCU fans suggested that Florence Pugh would make a great live-action Abby Anderson.

For those unaware, Abby plays the central antagonist in The Last of Us Part II video game, and has always been a controversial character due to what she did to Ellie, but also on the video gamers’ first reaction to her body build being similar to that of a man’s.

Now, MCU star Florence Pugh technically played a physically-built character like Yelena Belova in 2021’s Black Widow, however, fans are in disbelief that Pugh is the best actress to play the role. Check out some of the fan reactions below:

Early on the series, fans initially believed that co-showrunner and co-creator Neil Druckmann had already casted their live-action Abby and that is actress Shannon Berry. However, despite the fact that this is mere speculation due to the only proof being that Druckmann recently followed the actress on instagram, fans are quick to claim that Berry would be most fitting for the role, seeing as Berry resembled the character much closer than Pugh.

The Naughty Dog video game focused a chunk amount of time from Abby’s perspective as a way of introducing her and her story to the audience, similarly to how Joel and Ellie were portrayed. Despite playing an antagonistic role, the HBO show has already seen potential when it comes to casting the right actors who look very much alike to their video game counterparts, so it is only natural that fans are looking forward to Season 2 not being any different.

Who do you think is better to play live-action Abby?

Meanwhile, The Last of Us Episode 8 premieres this coming Sunday, March 5, 2023.
