The Last of Us Fans Are Eager To FINALLY See Ellie’s VA Appearance In The HBO Series

Showrunners Neil Druckmann and Craig Mazin continue to prove on keeping their promise in sticking closely to the game, seeing The Last of Us Episode 5 ended with Joel and Ellie’s departure from Henry and Sam. Now, fans are expecting to see Ashley Johnson, who voiced Ellie in the Naughty Dog video game, in The Last of Us Episode 6, frankly because of the title: “Kin”.

While The Last of Us Episode 6 preview mostly covered Joel reuniting with his long lost brother Tommy again, the fans are also expecting at least a small portion of Ellie’s background. Apart from having to see more of her vulnerable side in losing Henry and her confessed fear of “being alone” during the apocalypse, the fans are eager to see the video game Ellie make her own debut in the HBO series. Ashley Johnson is one of the many original video game voice actors to have agreed in becoming involved with the HBO series. Although her appearance was a no-brainer, seeing as she was featured for a few seconds in The Last of Us trailer, many new The Last of Us fans continue to express their surprise and excitement to find Ellie’s mother, Anna, officially making a cameo in the series.

Every gamer of The Last of Us is well aware of Anna's importance to Ellie in the game. One of Anna’s good friends happened to be Marlene, the leader of the Fireflies, and eventually ended up taking Ellie under their wing. While this has yet to be revealed the same story in the HBO series, it would be interesting how Ellie’s story unfolds differently from the Naughty Dog video game.

Meanwhile, The Last of Us Episode 6 is slated to be released on February 19, Sunday, on HBO Max.
