The Last of Us Episode 8 Preview Introduces Original Joel Actor in Villainous Role

Original Joel Miller voice actor Troy Baker is about to be introduced in HBO’s The Last of Us as part of the cannibal survivors group, which pins Baker in a rather villainous role as compared to his video game counterpart. As seen in The Last of Us Episode 8 preview, Baker has been shown quite a lot of times on screen, indicating his major role, which you can check out below:

Ahead of the HBO show’s release, Baker’s role as James, a leading member of the survivors group of cannibals, has been revealed amid the fandom, and now that we’re about to witness him stay true to the antagonistic role, it’s quite nerve-wracking to eventually watch HBO’s Joel (Pedro Pascal) come face-to-face with Naughty Dog video game’s Joel (Troy Baker).

Baker will be the third The Last of Us original voice actor making an appearance in the live series, whereas co-stars Jeffrey Pierce and Merle Dandridge previously came about as Perry and Marlene.

It would be quite interesting to see how HBO’s Ellie (Bella Ramsey) interacts with in-game Joel Miller once they encounter each other. Needless to say, it’s not a pleasant meeting at all. In fact, The Last of Us Episode 8 is bound to be one of the most traumatic scenes in the entire series, as the video game had shown. To instill a trigger warning: James and cannibal group leader David should not be trusted.

Seeing as Ellie is off on having to survive on her own with Joel out of commission for now, we’ll be seeing her in a different light, applying what Joel had taught her throughout the series thus far.

The Last of Us Episode 8 premieres this Sunday, March 5, 2023, on HBO Max.
