There is little doubt that The Last of Us is currently one of the most-watched shows and it's clear that the live-action series adaptation of the Naughty Dog game will continue to be successful in its second season. Not surprisingly, all the success has also been helpful to the game it is based on. It has been confirmed that the games are dominating PlayStation sales since the HBO show premiered early this year.

The official PlayStation blog has revealed the top downloads for February 2023. The top ten lists for PlayStation 5 games in North America and Europe are dominated by the recently-released Hogwarts Legacy. However, both also feature The Last of Us Part I, the remake of the 2013 title that was released in September last year. Amazingly, the game made it to the number six spot on the North American list while it landed at number seven in Europe.

The Last of Us Part I isn't the only title from the video game franchise that is selling more copies. The top ten list for PlayStation 4 downloads was dominated by The Last of Us Part II which is in the top spot for both North America and Europe.

This shouldn't be a huge surprise considering that more people are discovering the games after watching The Last of Us on HBO. Needless to say, it's proof that people are more open to checking out video games after seeing its storyline on a cinematic level. With that in mind, we're expecting both the show and the games to reach more audiences (and gamers) in the future.

The Last of Us is down to its ninth and final episode for the first season. The official title for Episode 9 is Look For The Light and will introduce the game's Ellie voice actor Ashley Johnson as Anna. It is set to premiere on HBO Max on Sunday, March 12, 2023.
