The long wait is over as Chainsaw Man Part 2 is here with the release of Chapter 98. As it is one of the most anticipated manga releases of the year, it should come as no surprise that Chainsaw Man trended worldwide.
On Twitter, Chainsaw Man shot up to the top of the trending charts in the Entertainment category.
The series also became one of the most trending topics in several countries, including Japan, the US, Canada, France, Germany, the Philippines, and more.
Among the tens of thousands of Chainsaw Man-related Tweets, you’ll see how excited fans are that the series is back. And from these tweets, it seems like fans have enjoyed the super-sized 56-page-long chapter.

While the new chapter did not feature Denji, it did introduce a short-lived character that’s already becoming a fan favorite. And it’s none other than Bucky, the Chicken Devil.
Sure, Bucky may not have existed for long, but this headless chicken has already endeared fans all over the world. So much so that there are already lots of Bucky fanart.
A character that we’ll surely see more of is Asa Mitaka, aka the War Devil. While Mitaka starts as an antisocial high school student, she quickly becomes the vessel for the War Devil.
As expected, this chain of events is a gory and violent one. But that hasn’t stopped fans from loving her and creating lots of impressive fan art.
Aside from trending on Twitter, Chainsaw Man Part 2 is also dominating discussions in online forums. For instance, the Chainsaw Man Chapter 98 discussion thread on Reddit r/manga quickly reached the top of the subreddit.
Looking at the discussion, it seems that the latest Chainsaw Man chapter is near-universally loved by fans. There’s also a lot of theorycrafting about who the War Devil is, along with what happened between Part 1 and 2.
Fans in the discussion thread have also discussed the seeming increase in gore. While Chainsaw Man Part 1 was already gory, Chapter 98 took it up a notch with its violent illustrations.
Part 2 being gorier can be explained by the Manga now serializing on Shonen Jump+. Before, Chainsaw Man was serialized on Weekly Shonen Jump, meaning the violence may have been toned down slightly.
This shouldn’t be the case anymore as Jump+ is online-only which likely means fewer restrictions.
Chainsaw Man Chapter 99 will release next week on July 19, 2022.
