The Future of Marvel's Inhumans Looks Bleak

Marvel's Inhumans started with a whimper and ended with a thud last year, with many marking it as the first official failure in the MCU. After a disastrous first season, fans aren't expecting to see this show renewed. This is why fans are baffled at the lack of any official confirmation about the series' fate, with many dreading that the show could get another season.

Speaking with Entertainment Weekly, ABC Boss Channing Dungey admitted that the show has underperformed. "It didn't perform for us at the level that we would've wanted," she said. "We haven't made any official decision yet about what we're going to pick up in May, but I will say that the numbers, unfortunately, were less exciting for us than we hoped they would be."

Openly speaking about the show's failures could be seen as a death knell. The series' IMAX premiere failed to captivate audiences and the remaining episodes weren't enough to win over curious viewers. It's a real shame too since the characters in the comics are captivating, though the same could not be said for this live-action adaptation.

The fact that a decision hasn't been made yet is rather surprising. Some might claim that Disney could be trying to keep the series afloat since previous reports claimed that the company kept Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. from being canceled. One has to wonder if the show is worth keeping, given how critics and audiences alike haven't had nice things to say about it.

Does Marvel's Inhumans deserve a second season? Probably not.
