The Flash Video Game Would Have Been Great

Superhero videogames are almost a dime a dozen, especially for both the DC and Marvel franchise. However, there was almost a game featuring the Scarlet Speedster, though this was supposedly cancelled before fans even got to enjoy a teaser or two of it.

YouTube's Did You Know Gaming? has covered he cancelled open-world video game featuring The Flash. The game is reportedly supposed to be developed under Bottlerocket Entertainment, which had a lot of previous members from Sony San Diego.

Speaking to fans, the one responsible for the video, Liam Robertson, also gave a quick backgrounder of the game from the perspective of the creators.

The overall conceptualization and development of The Flash game project appeared to be very ambitious, with mention of superhero cameos. Interestingly, the pegged platforms for release are the old-gen consoles, which pretty much dates the development of the project.

"The lead designer on the game (Greg Miller) told me that they were aware of the possibility that they would be asked to change him to Barry to keep it in line with the comics, although they were never asked to do that at any point during development. It was a distinct possibility that they would have had to change it, but we'll never know for sure. The Flash in this game was Wally until the end."

Sadly, The Flash open-world game won't see the light of day, which seems to be quite the shame for the franchise. The full video can be seen above.
