People are undoubtedly wondering about Erin Kellyman's character in The Falcon and The Winter Soldier. After all, she has been revealed to be fully capable of taking down Bucky Barnes in the latest trailer. Luckily, Marvel may have finally confirmed the identity of the mysterious new villain.
Kellyman's involvement in The Falcon and The Winter Soldier was confirmed last year but her role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe series was not disclosed. Nevertheless, there were speculations that she would be playing one of the new villains in the highly anticipated Disney+ show.
But is it possible that the truth has been revealed? The official Falcon and The Winter Soldier merch listed on Zazzle reveals that Kellyman is playing Karli Morgenthau, the leader of the Flag-Smashers.
Comic book readers know this name except it has been gender-bent. Karl Morgenthau has gone up against Captain America several times in the comics and is best known under the name Flag-Smasher.
Although he doesn't lead a group called the Flag-Smashers in the comics, he is a brilliant terrorist strategist and a gifted hand to hand combatant. This would explain how Kellyman's character was able to defeat Bucky so easily in the new trailer.
We're glad that the mystery of Kellyman's character might finally be solved but she's hardly the only baddie in The Falcon and The Winter Soldier. Daniel Bruhl has also been confirmed to reprise his role as Baron Zemo and he will continue to fight against the heroes in the series.
The Falcon and The Winter Soldier premieres on Disney+ on March 19.
