We're two months away from the premiere of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier and there's zero doubt that the show led by Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson and Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes will serve as a true changing of the guard in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
If you've been following Captain America's MCU journey, you're very much aware by now that the closing moments of Avengers: Endgame saw our star-spangled hero retire his red, white, and blue mantle to live a normal life with Peggy Carter. Steve Rogers would later pass on the vibranium shield to Sam Wilson but not everything is as easy as it seems.
The series will revolve around the government appointing their own Captain America in the U.S. Agent following Rogers' retirement and as it turns out, The Falcon would have to fight his way in order for him to become "worthy" of becoming the next Captain America.
Speaking of, if ever you're wondering how The Falcon would look like in his new Cap suit, artist @ultrawraw unveiled his marvelous artwork featuring Anthony in a comic-accurate Falcon Cap costume. Check it out here:
Wilson has proven time and time again that he's the perfect candidate to succeed Rogers but it's looking pretty evident that things won't come easy for The Falcon. Considering his history of "breaking the rules" with Cap and Bucky, it'll be hard for him to gain back the trust of the government especially after they failed to abide by the Sokovia accords. But of course, all roads will lead to him eventually becoming the next Captain of the Avengers so we'll just have to wait and see how things play out.
The Falcon and the Winter Soldier hits Disney+ this March.
