In Episode 5 Viola, the Duke's sister, arrives uninvited once more, hoping to see more of her crush, Rob. As might be expected, hilarity ensues, with Viola acting hopelessly awkward. But if you dig a bit more deeply, sad truth is hiding underneath the comedy: Viola might be free to live, unlike her brother, but she's very lonely.

While the Duke must avoid others, he still has Alice and Rob who support him despite his curse. In comparison, Viola has mostly been ignored by her mother. Now Viola finds an older sister figure in Alice, and the two spend the night together, talking about their crushes.

While ice-skating, the Duke and Alice meet Zain, a magician who can transform into a white crow, who is revealed to be Cuff's friend. The Duke is jealous because Cuff and Zain can touch one another, but Zain is jealous about the fact that Alice and the Duke can openly talk about their feelings.

The episode offers some hope for the plot to pick up soon, as Cuff reveals that a witch Sabbath will take place soon. The witch who cursed the Duke will likely attend.
