The Defenders Is The Third Most Binged-Watched Show On Netflix

While it might not have done as well as Daredevil, Marvel's The Defenders has ended up being a success in its own right. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the eight-episode series has become the third most binge-watched show on Netflix, which is quite the feat given the amount of quality content on the service. The series was only behind Fuller House and Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life.

Interestingly enough, the other Marvel shows didn't crack the top 20 of most binge-watched, despite some of them getting higher reviews from fans and critics. This might be due to the fact that Defenders is only eight episodes, making it easier to binge-watch than the other shows. Both seasons of Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist are all 13-episodes each.

Admittedly, eight episodes are much easier to binge-watch than 13 episodes. Iron Fist is a pretty bad show, and the fact that it is 13 episodes makes it much harder to binge through. There is also the fact that most of the Marvel shows are pretty dark and gloomy, so the lighter tone and action-packed episodes of Defenders might have helped.

Defenders can currently be streamed on Netflix. The second season of Jessica Jones wrapped up production, while Luke Cage season two is still filming.
