Last week, the original science-fiction film The Creator made its way into theaters with mild box office results and received mostly positive reviews from the critics. It is also considered to be timely due to its exploration of artificial intelligence (AI).
The film marked director Gareth Edwards' comeback after helming Rogue One: A Star Wars Story seven years ago and it is one of the rare original science-fiction films that are being released by a major studio in theaters.
Just like in Godzilla (2014) and Rogue One, it is yet again another visually striking science-fiction film from Edwards and it is clearly influenced by some of the best films in the genre for the last several decades.
As it turns out, the new film also has a secret cameo from a Rogue One character that you may have missed when you watched it.

Rogue One's K-2SO Has a Secret Cameo in The Creator
Speaking with The Direct, The Creator VFX supervisor Jay Cooper and onset VFX supervisor Andrew Roberts revealed that Rogue One character K-2SO has a hidden easter egg cameo in The Creator.
However, they didn't reveal which scene in the film you can see the droid in as they want the audience to discover it themselves first.
"We have an Easter egg of K-2SO [from Star Wars: Rogue One] in the movie as well. But you know, you're gonna have to find that one on your own… It’s in there. I can circle it if I’m given the chance," Cooper said.
Given that Edwards also directed Rogue One and The Creator and the Star Wars franchise are owned by Disney, it's not surprising that they were able to sneak an easter egg like K-2SO in the film.
It is likely that his appearance was very much hidden in the background and it's something that the audience won't easily spot unless they check every single frame of it.
It is also a great treat for Star Wars fans who are going to see the film for the first time or on rewatch so that they can search for the character's secret appearance somewhere in the 133-minute runtime.
