Before becoming The Brothers Sun's Sleepy Chan, the actor Ben Wang made a name for himself playing Mr. Wong in the 2020 film Disrupted and Kenzo and Xiu in a couple of episodes of the 2019 series Legion.

Other credits include movies and series such as Transformers: Age of Extinction playing the Hong Kong Police Officer, Law & Order as Danny Chin, The Office as a Chinese Restaurant Waiter, and he even lent his voice at one point in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas.

Meanwhile, he plays a much more prominent role in Netflix's The Brothers Sun as Sleepy Chan, the notorious rival of Charles' father, Big Sun.

Initially, Charles (played by Justin Chien) was led to believe that Sleepy Chan was the one who shot his father back in Taiwan. This is solely because of Charles' gut instinct, plus the history of disputes between his father and Sleepy over the years.

However, in the fourth episode titled Square, Sleepy Chan reveals he was not part of the attack, through a game of broken telephone with Charles' dweeby younger brother, Bruce.

This certainly was a bad day for Bruce (Sam Song Li) to get involved in the family business. Instead of Charles facing Sleepy Chan himself, he put his brother to the test with this negotiation.

However Bruce, who isn't fluent in Mandarin, only understood half of what Sleepy Chan said, and relayed a garbled version of the message to Charles over the phone. Here's what Sleepy Chan tried to explain to Bruce:

"I'm not responsible for your father. Flies can never infest an egg without cracks. I've traveled all this way to tell you we have a shared enemy, Little Sun. One that is both old and new and will put us all at risk if we do not fight together."

Before Bruce can even begin to understand Sleepy Chan's message, two assailants appear out of nowhere and stab Sleepy twice.

This confirms two things: Sleepy Chan was not behind the kill order and shooting of Big Sun and they all have a bigger enemy to face.
