The Boys and Suicide Squad Star Karen Fukuhara Attacked in Shocking Hate Crime

Karen Fukuhara has played strong and powerful women in all her projects but that still didn't stop people from disrespecting the Suicide Squad actress. The star of The Boys has just shared her shocking experience of being targetted in an apparent hate crime!

Karen Fukuhara shared her experience in a post on her official Instagram account. In the post, Fukuhara stated that she "was struck in the head by a man" although she assures her followers that she is"physically fine." However, Fukuhara points out that "this sh-t needs to stop. Us women, Asians, the elderly need your help."

The actress was quick to point out that she doesn't usually share about her private life but she felt it was important to tell people about her experience.

"I was walking to a café for some coffee and a man struck me in the back of my head. It came out of nowhere. We made no eye contact before, I wasn't doing anything out of the ordinary. It came to my surprise and my hat flew off," Fukuhara wrote. "By the time I looked back, he was a few feet away from me (he must have kept walking after hitting me). I thought about confronting him first but he started coming towards me and I didn't think it was worth the risk."

Fukuhara then adds that "After a few seconds of staring at each other, and him yelling at me, he eventually walked away."

It's a shocking incident considering that this is the first time that Fukuhara has been "physically harmed". She did, however, deal with "racial slurs and hurtful actions" in the past. Fukuhara has then chosen to share her experience to spread awareness about hate crimes inflicted on Asian women including the elderly.

Karen Fukuhara is set to return in The Boys Season 3, which premieres on Amazon Prime on June 3, 2022.
