We already know that a new Batman will be introduced in The Brave and The Bold but who will play the next Caped Crusader? The Boys star Jensen Ackles is more than interested in becoming the Dark Knight in the upcoming project in James Gunn's new DC Universe.

Jensen Ackles Campaigns To Play Batman In The Brave And The Bold

The Supernatural star recently attended the Jus in Bello Convention in Italy where he was asked if he would be interested in playing the new live-action Batman in the announced DC project (via Deadline). Not surprisingly, Jensen Ackles had an enthusiastic response.

"I mean, could I do it? Sure. Would I want to do it? Yes," he said.

Ackles also joked about being disinterested but later admitted that he would be thrilled to be the new Batman.

Would I entertain the idea of playing my favorite superhero of all time? Nah, I'm good. It seems like a lot of work, you know. You gotta put in a bat suit and be a superhero," Ackles joked.

"I would love it," he added. "Sign me up."

For now, DC Studios has not yet confirmed casting plans for Batman. However, Jensen Ackles might have a chance considering he already has a connection to the character.

Ackles first played Jason Todd in the animated film Under The Red Hood before being cast as Bruce Wayne/Batman in Batman: The Long Halloween and Legion of Superheroes. He is currently set to reprise his role as the Dark Knight in the upcoming Justice League: Warworld.

The planned The Brave and The Bold will follow the members of the "Bat-Family" and is set to introduce Batman's son Damian Wayne as a version of Robin. James Gunn previously stated that the film would be a "strange father and son story" about Batman and Robin.

For now, The Brave and The Bold is still in early development. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
