Anthony Starr's Homelander serves as the leader and the most powerful member of The Seven. The Boys character is essentially a twisted version of Superman and at the hands of humans, Homelander is indestructible. However, like its DC counterpart, there may be a weakness to the powerful Supe in order to defeat him.
In a recent interview with Collider, The Boys producer Eric Kripke was asked whether or not Homelander can actually be killed or maybe have even a tinge of weakness within him. "That's been an ongoing discussion in the writers room," he said. "At the moment there aren't many physical ones, but there's so many psychological ones that that's what we kind of lean to."
"Anthony has said many times, and I agree, that Homelander is the weakest character in the show," Kripke continued. "So we've never really gotten into the ‘How do you stop him physically?' But there are a lot of ways to stop him psychologically."
Kripke pointed out that while Homelander doesn't have any physical weaknesses, his emotional weaknesses are certainly exploitable. "He finds his human vulnerability so hateful and he hates that part of him and he tries to subsume it, and yet it is part of who he is," he added. "And so he hates a part of him that he can't ultimately control, and so that kind of leads to a snake's nest of psychoses." So at the moment, that's only Homelander's weakness and maybe something of use to the group.
Going into Season 2, it'll be interesting to see how Butcher and the rest of the team try to take down Homelander. Sure enough, they will find ways to attack the "hero," but will they be able to defeat him eventually? Only time will tell.
