The Boys Presents: Diabolical Trailer Unveils New Look at the Different Animation Styles


A while ago, it was announced that an animated anthology spinoff series of The Boys titled The Boys Presents: Diabolical is coming on its way which will feature different stories set in the series' universe. The news got a lot of fans excited as it will give us an expansion of the series and more overview of a world of superheroes owned by Vought International. Now, we finally have the official trailer for the upcoming series.

Amazon Prime Video has released the official trailer for The Boys Presents: Diabolical where we see the different episodes and animation styles that will be featured in the series including anime-inspired, a homage to the original The Boys comics, Korean horror and drama, Saturday morning cartoon-inspired, and such. They also unveiled more actors who joined the star-studded voice cast. You can watch the trailer here:

Among the new cast members who joined the roster of voice talents in the series are Kimberly Brooks, Nicole Byer, Frances Conroy, Asjha Cooper, Chris Diamantopolous, John DiMaggio, Jermaine Fowler, Emily Gordon, Grey Griffin, Randall Duk Kim, David Marciano, Xolo Maridueña, Dominique McElligott, Caleb McLaughlin, Colby Minifie, Eugene Mirman, Retta, Kevin Michael Richardson, Somali Rose, Parker Simmons, Ursula Taherian, Fred Tatasciore, Sean Patrick Thomas, Angela Marie Volpe, Gary Antony Williams, and Jenny Yokobori.

Awkwafina, Michael Cera, Don Cheadle, Chace Crawford, Kieran Culkin, Giancarlo Esposito, Eliot Glazer, Jason Isaacs, Kumail Nanjiani, Justin Roiland, Seth Rogen, Andy Samberg, Ben Schwartz, Elisabeth Shue, Christian Slater, Kevin Smith, Antony Starr, Nasim Pedrad, Simon Pegg, Kenan Thompson, Aisha Tyler, and Youn Yuh-jung were previously announced as part of the voice cast.

The animated anthology series, which will be consist of eight episodes running around 12-14 minutes, will reveal unseen stories within The Boys universe told in different animation styles and brought to life by some of the most creative minds in entertainment today including Awkwafina, Garth Ennis, Eliot Glazer and Ilana Glazer, Evan Goldberg and Seth Rogen, Simon Racioppa, Justin Roiland and Ben Bayouth, Andy Samberg, and Aisha Tyler.

The trailer looks very impressive as they emphasized the different animation styles that they used to tell the eight stories whether it's inspired by an anime or a classic American short animation style or Roiland's aesthetics. It also looks like it's going to be bonkers just like the main series as it seems that they are not skimming in terms of gore and violence even though it's animation. A lot of fans should feel excited now based on the trailer and it's a good appetizer that we can watch while we're waiting for the third season.
