The Blacklist Season 9 Episode 1 is finally premiering this week, and audiences can expect to see lead character Reddington (James Spader) making an important decision about the FBI Task Force.

Since the premiere episode will feature a two-year time jump, a lot of things already happened to Red and the other members of the FBI Task Force.

Not only is Liz (Megan Boone) dead; all the former members of the FBI Task Force have also gone on with their respective lives.

NBC previously released the official trailer for The Blacklist Season 9, and it centers on the lead character Red.

In the short clip, Red is talking to a mystery man. An unknown character tells him that it's not yet over.

Even though two years would've already passed since Liz's death, Red still seems to be in the process of moving on.

Days later, another trailer for The Blacklist Season 9 premiered during Late Night with Seth Meyers.

It features Red contemplating as to whether he should return to the Task Force and reunite with the entire team or not.

Red also makes it clear that some people should be held accountable for their actions. And this statement may be a reference to Liz's death.

The beloved character was killed off in the final episode for The Blacklist Season 8. So, it's highly likely for Red and the other team members to want to get revenge on behalf of the late character.
