The CEO of AMC Entertainment Adam Aron confirmed that the price of the tickets for The Batman will have a higher price than the other movies that would be showing this weekend. In a report from Deadline, the AMC Entertainment CEO says that this would form part of their chain experiment with variable pricing.

In a webcast following quarterly earnings, Aron explained why The Batman tickets would cost more, “Currently, our prices for The Batman are slightly higher than the prices we are charging for other movies playing in the same theaters at the same time.”

Aron also discussed that this is something new that they would be introducing to the US theaters, “This is all quite novel in the United States, but actually AMC has been doing it for years in our European theaters. Indeed, in Europe we charge a premium for the best seats in the house — as do just about all sellers of tickets in other industries — take sports events, concerts, and live theater, for example."

Looking at the rates of The Batman tickets, the price at the AMC Empire 25 in Times Square costs $18.99 which is a dollar higher than other movies such as Uncharted and Dog. As for that at AMC Metreon in San Francisco, The Batman tickets are priced at $19.49 while Uncharted is at $17.49. This shows that pricing in different parts of the country vary.

The Batman is directed by Matt Reeves and led by Robert Pattinson as Bruce Wayne/ Batman. He would be joined by Zöe Kravitz as Selina Kyle/ Catwoman, Colin Farrell as Oswald Cobblepot/ The Penguin, and Raul Dano as Edward Nashton/ The Riddler.

Ben Affleck was supposed to star in the upcoming The Batman film and it was originally planned to form part of the DC Extended Universe, however, when Affleck phased out of the project, Reeves stepped into the shoes of being the director and they knew, at that moment, that the film will no longer be canon to the DCEU.

The Batman is scheduled to arrive in theaters on March 4, 2022.
