The Batman: Colin Farrell Admits He Ordered at Starbucks While Wearing Penguin Prosthetics

The most jarring part of The Batman trailers that were released is the preview of Colin Farrell's transformation into Oswald Cobblepot. The actor is very unrecognizable on the part and you won't even realize that it's the same person who starred in films such as In Bruges, Saving Mr. Banks, and Alexander. Obviously, a lot of makeup and prosthetics work was done in order to turn him into the villainous character and, as it turns out, Farrell went all the way to try the prosthetics by ordering at Starbucks.

Speaking to Collider, Farrell shared a story about the time when he was testing the prosthetics with designer Mike Marino to turn him into the Penguin in The Batman and revealed that he actually ordered at Starbucks while wearing the prosthetics.

"The first day we tried the whole thing out, we took it for a drive, a spin metaphorically speaking. We did it in Burbank. It took about six or eight hours. It was a team of ten or fifteen people. And it was really fun," Farrell said. "I went into Starbucks and ordered myself a very un-Oswald drink, an oat milk latte with two stevia sweeteners. I got a couple of stares but only because it’s such an imposing look. Mike did so much of the work for me on this, so much of the heavy lifting."

It is hilarious to think that Farrell actually went to Starbucks while wearing the prosthetics. It looks like nobody recognized him and only gave him an imposing look which simply proves and shows that the work that the make-up and prosthetics team did was very effective. If you're at that particular Starbucks branch in Burbank during the time when Farrell visited while in prosthetics, that means you luckily already had the first look at the actor as the Penguin.

We're now a week away from the film's release in theaters and it is very exciting to see how it will all fare as there's been so much hype and anticipation at the moment. It's also intriguing to see Farrell in the role of the Penguin since it looks like he was very committed to playing the character. Luckily, we don't need to wait any longer to find out.
