Ever since the inception of the Marvel Cinematic Universe in 2008, the franchise has pretty much been dominated by the Avengers. Four phases later and they're still considered the undisputed superhero team in the MCU and for good reason.

We found out last July at San Diego Comic-Con that the Avengers will continue to be the main protagonists in the franchise until 2025, at least but it looks like Marvel Studios is already planting the seeds that would see a huge roster shakeup within the comic book film juggernaut.

According to a new scoop from the oftentimes reliable Daniel Richtman, Kevin Feige has already laid out plans for the MCU's next big saga after the Multiverse Saga culminates in Avengers: Secret Wars in 2025. This time around, the Earth's Mightiest Heroes could be taking a backseat to pave way for the mutants who are reportedly going to be the focal point of the franchise after Phase 6.

As it stands, details surrounding Marvel's next big saga are still being kept under wraps so it's best to take this hot new rumor with a grain of salt. However, it would be safe to assume that it will in fact revolve around the mutants with the X-Men reboot already in place.

Obviously, the Avengers may have to step aside for a while when that time finally comes but considering the superteam has dominated the franchise for over a decade, even the Earth's Mightiest Heroes deserve some break.

That said, Marvel Studios' X-Men reboot is currently under development.
