The Apothecary Diaries has become one of the biggest surprise hits of the Fall 23 season. Thus, fans will be happy to know that The Apothecary Diaries will continue with Part 2, which will premiere after a short hiatus.
Following the release of the first season’s 12th episode over the weekend, it was revealed that the show will not release a new episode this week.
Thankfully, the series will return as its first season has a consecutive two-cour run.
The Apothecary Diaries Enters a Short Hiatus After Episode 12
For Fall 23, the biggest shows were no doubt Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 and Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End. Close behind them in terms of popularity and reception is The Apothecary Diaries by OLM.
This series initially got attention for its eye-catching trailers. It soon gained fans after its hour-long premiere back in October. Lots of viewers got hooked with its unique premise and memorable characters.
Most of the Fall 23 shows have ended or are just about to end as they only have 1 cour or around 12 episodes. That isn’t the case here as The Apothecary Diaries will continue in the Winter 24 season.
The show’s consecutive two-cour run is similar to Frieren, which will also air Part 2 during Winter 24. Comparisons between the two don’t stop there as both shows won’t have new episodes this week.
That’s because Apothecary is also on a short hiatus, but it’s only one week long. This means the anime will get its 13th episode in the first week of January.

The Apothecary Diaries Part 2 Gets a Release Date
Following the release of Episode 12, it was revealed that Episode 13 will mark the beginning of Part 2. This next episode will be released in early January at the same timeslot as the Part 1 episodes.
A trailer for the second part was also shared alongside its release date reveal. The trailer is a pretty meaty one as it features lots of new clips. You can check it out here:
Also previewed in the trailer are the second half’s theme songs. The new opening is titled Ambivalent by Uru (Hell’s Paradise ED singer). Meanwhile, the ending song is called Ai wa Kusuri by wacci (Your Lie in April ED singer).
The Apothecary Diaries Part 2 will premiere on January 6, 2024. This next episode along with the rest of Part 2 will also be streamed in the US on Crunchyroll.
