The A-List Cameo Everyone Missed in Deadpool 2

While there are several analyses on the internet about every cameo that has been spotted in Deadpool 2, one manages to be missed by several people. The actor is credited as Dickie Greenleaf in the movie, but it's revealed that he's actually none other than… Matt Damon.

This was revealed by writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, in an interview with Yahoo! Entertainment:

"[Matt Damon's] not hidden like Waldo for just an instant; he gets some good screen time."

As it turns out, Damon is one of the hillbillies that Cable steals a pick-up truck from. You'll also be interested to learn that Morena Baccarin's (Vanessa) co-star from Serenity is also in the film; the second redneck in the scene with Damon is actually played by Alan Tudyk.

Director David Leitch also talks about how secret their Matt Damon cameo was that even some members of the crew didn't know it was him:

"They spent a lot of time in the makeup chair… Matt, in particular. Bill Corso, our makeup artist, had three hours with him to put him in deep prosthetics and give him that beer belly."

Interestingly enough, Damon also had a cameo in Thor: Ragnarok as an Asgardian theater actor. With his appearance here, he's actually the second actor after Brolin to appear both in the MCU and in the Marvel Fox cinematic universe.
