Thanos Reportedly Set to Return in Marvel’s The Eternals

It looks like there's a whole lot of excitement building up over Marvel's The Eternals.

Not only is the film supposed to be the very first Marvel comic book hero moving to an showcase the first LGBTQ kiss in DC, but new reports also suggest that the film could end up bringing back an Avengers: Endgame character – Thanos (Josh Brolin).

According to a report by We Got This Covered, Marvel has been throwing around the idea that Marvel is going to have to bring back Thanos into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It might seem a little bit odd considering the fact that Marvel spent ten years to build up to Thanos and then for the Avengers to finally deal with the Mad Titan in Joe and Anthony Russo's two-part Avengers movie event, but who knows.

Perhaps Marvel is going to bring back Thanos through time travel. Perhaps we'll get to see a younger version of the character in The Eternals.

Interestingly enough, Marvel Studios could do the same thing with the multiverse. The studio could very well add in a small cameo of Thanos and the young Avengers in the 2021 movie, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. After all, the movie does deal with multiverses and time travel.

Of course, Marvel would have to have a good reason for bringing Thanos back in the MCU besides a potential cameo. Fans might not like the idea of having Thanos around again, not after the sacrifice that the Avengers made in Avengers: Endgame.

The Eternals is set to premiere on November 6, 2020.
