We know that Disney+'s Loki series will be dealing with time travel, seeing that Loki has been apprehended by the Time Variance Authority (TVA). What's interesting is, the series could be setting up another famous time traveler from the comics.
According to insider Daniel Richtman (via FullCircleCinema), the show could be introducing Kang the Conqueror or as Young Avengers readers may know him, Iron Lad. In the comics, Kang was a time traveler who had used his knowledge to conquer the future, and he had aimed to conquer the past, only to clash with the Avengers.
In the Young Avengers comics, an adolescent version of Kang came to the past and posed as Iron Lad, in an attempt to escape his criminal future.
Seeing that Marvel likes to shake things up when it comes to the movies, it's possible that we could be getting something entirely different when it comes to Kang's origin. While I think it would be cool to have him solely as a villain, it would be great if two versions of himself existed in the timeline; one that is a full-on bad guy, and one that is trying to stop himself from becoming evil (Iron Lad). Heck, this kind of mess smells like Loki could be all over it.
We don't know the story of the Loki series yet, but I am excited to see how the character will function alone without having Thor to mess him around. Tom Hiddleston is already pretty talented, and I'm excited to see him come back to the MCU after Loki's death in Infinity War.
Loki is set to hit Disney+ in the spring of 2021.
