Thanos Co-Creator Hints at Lady Death’s Potential Appearance in Doctor Strange 2

Joe and Anthony Russo may have chosen to keep Lady Death from Thanos' (Josh Brolin) motivation in turning half of the universe to dust in Avengers: Infinity War, however, Marvel comic book legend Jim Starlin believes that Mistress Death may join the Marvel Cinematic Universe soon.

Speaking in an interview with ComicBook.com, Starlin discussed Death's absence in Thanos' origin story, explaining how Kevin Feige and his team didn't really want to introduce abstract entities like Lady Death, Eternity, Lord Chaos, and Master Order too early in the timeline of the MCU.

Marvel wanted to give some order to the franchise before introducing these high-concept characters.

"They told me early on that they didn't feel like abstract entities were something that the movie-going audience was ready for," the comic book writer told ComicBook.com.

That's going to change now Now that Marvel's entering Phase 4 of the MCU though.

"But with the next Dr. Strange movie, they're stepping into that realm. So if there are more Thanos movies down the line, I wouldn't be at all surprised to see Mistress Death showing up there," Starlin explained.

While the appearance of Lady Death might seem a tad bit too late knowing that Thanos' arc has already come and gone, we wouldn't be entirely surprised to see the character appear in the Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. After all, the film is going to explore different universes within the MCU. Marvel could introduce Lady Death in a short cameo.
