Thanos Creator Says MCU Villain Should Appear in The Eternals

We already know that the Avengers have gotten rid of Thanos after Tony Stark's heartbreaking sacrifice in Avengers: Endgame. However, that probably doesn't mean we've seen the last of the Marvel Cinematic Universe villain. Jim Starlin says there's a huge chance that Thanos will be back in The Eternals. Interestingly, the man who created the Mad Titan had a valid reason for expecting the return of the character.

Starlin recently spoke to Comicbook.com where he claims that Marvel Studios will introduce a younger version of the comic book character soon. "Well, I understand that the story's not completely ended," he said. "They've already announced that. I think a young Thanos appears in The Eternals. I remember reading that somewhere."

But why bring back a character who has already been killed off? Starlin had an interesting reason for Thanos' possible return.

"They made a shit load of money off this guy," he said. "So I don't see them retiring him anytime soon. Comic book characters tend to have an extended lifespan beyond the actors who work on them. I'm half expecting to see much more Thanos down the line."

Well, he sure does have a point there. In addition to that, Thanos was part of the Eternals so it would make sense for the character to come up in the film. On the other hand, fans probably shouldn't expect too much of the Mad Titan in the upcoming MCU flick as his appearance might be a small cameo. Nevertheless, it's best to take this with a grain of salt.

The Eternals is scheduled for release on February 12, 2021.
