Fans didn't know what to expect when Teen Titans Go! To The Movies was first announced. The trailers left a good impression for the most part, with many thinking it would be a fun parody of the superhero genre like Deadpool was but for younger audiences. Most people were expecting this movie to get a 60% to 75% on Rotten Tomatoes, maybe even 80% to be charitable.
No one expected the movie to get 100% in its first week though.
Your eyes don't deceive you. Teen Titans Go! To The Movies has a 100% score on Rotten Tomatoes. It is currently higher than all of Marvel and DC's best movies, which is absolutely shocking.
To be fair, there have only been 16 critic reviews so there's a good chance that the score will get lower as the days go on. Still, 16 different critics gave it a perfect score, though no critical consensus has been given thus far. Amazing what a Stan Lee cameo can do for a movie huh?
All kidding aside, this does show how impressive Warner Bros. Animation's track record has been as of late. Last year's Lego Batman also received rave reviews and was much better than Justice League, so this appears to be a trend.
Teen Titans Go! To The Movies will be showing in theaters tomorrow, on July 24.
