Ted Lasso Season 3 is believed to be the last of the series, but given the show’s remarkable 20 Emmy nominations, not to mention a huge success, will Apple TV+ and co-creator Brendan Hunt end it?
The show was developed by Jason Sudeikis, Bill Lawrence, Hunt and Joe Kelly and they all previously said that Ted Lasso would only be a three-season series. Now that Ted Lasso Season 3 is about to come, will they have a change of heart or will it indeed be the last?
The Future of Ted Lasso After Season 3
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Hunt said the third season was being written as the last of the story.
However, it might not officially end the series, leaving the door open to any possibilities of a continuation.
He said,
“We are writing an ending for this three-chunk portion that we’ve always seen, but it’s not like Thanos is in it and half of us die. Most of us, anyway, will probably still be alive, so I don’t think leaving an out is anything to worry about.”

He explained that he and the other writers are still considering what will happen next after Ted Lasso Season 3 ends.
After the third season wraps up and they have some time away from the series, it may clear their heads of what may happen next to the show—if they will continue it and in what form.
He added,
“It’s just a matter of whether or not we pick this up in some other way, and when. But right now, we have to get through this whole mishegas and then we’ll have a clearer head to see what the future holds.”
Ted Lasso’s Success
According to Screen Rant, no one expects Ted Lasso to be as famous as it’s today. It has become Apply TV+’s flagship series, increasing the number of its subscribers dramatically.

With this fame, it’s not impossible that Ted Lasso Season 3 won’t be the last and show will continue with a possible new season or a spinoff.

Meanwhile, discussing Ted Lasso Season 3, Hunt stated they would adopt a child—“a bunch of adopted children running around.”

He explained,
“It really becomes more of an Oliver! thing — Oliver exclamation point. No — the team is dealing with the reality of going back to the Premier League, where we’re minnows again. We’re minus our brightest tactical mind, and we know the way the Premier League structure works, we have to play West Ham twice, so Nate and Rupert [Anthony Head] are out there looming. We might see a bit of what’s going on at West Ham as well.”
