Five episodes into Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin, fans are already eager to know who’s behind the mask of the mysterious villain, A. Fortunately, his identity will be revealed at the end of the first season, according to the showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa himself.

The antagonist gives the viewers serious Leatherface vibes with his mask on. But who he is without the mask may be revealed in the final episode of Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin.

The New A in Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin

Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin is a sequel to the hit series that started with Sara Shepard’s novels.

It follows the story of a new group of Liars in Milwood. The girls are about to learn about their mothers' misdeeds they become A's targets.

In the original series, A’s part lasted longer than necessary. The show took a long time before it finally unveiled A’s identity.

According to Screen Rant, it first introduced several other villains who claimed they were A. Sure, this helped the series prolong the mystery, but it also caused a bigger problem.

A number of episodes were turned into fillers, whiles fans’ responses became “fairly negative.” The strong build-up also resulted in the A reveal as “anticlimactic.”

So, with the nearing revelation of A in the sequel series, it’s part of the story that Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin will try to improve.

The show is now halfway through, and fans hope it will give them a satisfying ending. Will the mystery last like its parent show?

“I’ll say that there is little A won’t do, but hopefully by the end of the season — we do reveal A’s identity by the end of the season — everyone will understand why A did what A had to do,” Aguirre-Sacasa said.

It’s funny,” he continued. “I don’t know if it even made it ‘til the end, but at one point we had this explanation for why the janitor [was killed that way] and we were like, no one’s ever thinking about the janitor.”

Whatever the case is, Aguirre-Sacasa hoped A’s motivations would be cleared when the first season ended.
