Welton ended the previous season on a good note. But as she still has feelings for Sam (Toheeb Jimoh), will they rekindle their romance in Ted Lasso Season 3? Can she prove herself as a strong force to be reckoned with in this business?
Rebecca’s Future in Ted Lasso Season 3
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Waddingham revealed Rebecca is still unsure of her feelings for Sam in Ted Lasso Season 3.
She said,
“I think she ended on a confused note about Sam because there is an electricity and an ease between them but is she perturbed enough by the age gap to leave it behind or reignite it. Who knows? We shall see!”
Her character also lacks the confidence she needs to move forward and she still has a lot to go through to finally be where she can find comfort and know who she really is.

She added,
“But the biggest thing for me was, I was like, ‘Can she not be completely all together?’ I don't feel like we've traveled with Rebecca all the way through this of her not knowing how to function to suddenly have her all collected so I was like, ‘If she takes a couple of steps forward, can she please take maybe three or four back instead of one?’ And I'm pleased to say that she is as utterly clueless in her own life as before, as we all are really!”
The Story of Rebecca
For context, Rebecca had a public divorce from former AFC Richmond head Rupert. She then hired the inexperienced Ted (Jason Sudeikis) to make sure the team would go down the drain to anger her ex.
However, she fell in love with the charisma and optimism of the team’s new manager and started a romance with Sam while trying to establish herself in the business. Though she gave in to her desires, she decided to call it quits with Sam, thinking of the risk she had put themselves in.

Rebecca made good progress, seriously taking her job as a businesswoman and helping Ted to pull the team back into the fight.
Anyhow, she still has a long way to go, not just in the world of sport but also in improving herself. She needs to find that self-confidence to help her complete that important part of her life.
Thankfully, she will get the boost she needs from Ted and Keely (Juno Temple) in Ted Lasso Season 3, per Screen Rant.
