Tech, who was a clone commando serving in the Grand Army of the Republic during the Clone Wars and a member of Clone Force 99, presumably dropped to his death in the finale of The Bad Batch Season 2.

It was an act of honor to save his friends, an emotional sacrifice to help the Clone Force 99 escape and survive the mission altogether.

"Plan 99," was Tech's last words before he destroyed the connection between the rail cars and met his demise.

However, despite falling from the sky, Star Wars fans aren't buying that one of their favorite Bad Batchers easily fell to his death.

Think back to the time when Echo, another Clone Force 99 member, who was initially thought to be dead in The Clone Wars finale, came back to life when he was somehow rescued behind the scenes.

That said, here are some of the fans' theories on how Tech could return in The Bad Batch season 3.

Fans Believe Tech Could Return in The Bad Batch Finale

According to the fans (and well, Star Wars logic), if the physical body of a character isn't found or if they disappear into oblivion without so much a word, chances are we should be expecting their triumphant return in the future.

A fan details a potential scenario wherein Tech could be appearing right on cue to save the Bad Batchers once more, after having recovered when the Empire captured him.

While animated Star Wars series don't shy away from killing off major characters, another fan added how Tech's death wouldn't make sense.

They noted how Tech's glasses are still intact, which could imply that "the rest of him" may have escaped death, especially since the goggles were locked around his head with the head strap.

Otherwise, the goggles would have been broken upon landing.

It is worth mentioning that half of Tech's fans are also leaning more toward Tech being dead, as it would be "way more impactful with that outcome" for his character arc and his storyline in The Bad Batch.

For now, we'll just have to wait until the season finale starts streaming to get our answers.

Star Wars: The Bad Batch Season 3 is getting 15 episodes in total, with the first three releasing on Disney+ on Wednesday, February 21.
