The long-running Teasing Master Takagi-san is coming to a conclusion soon as several reports mentioned that the manga has an official ending date.
There’s no official announcement yet, but several reputable manga insiders revealed that the series will end in Fall 2023, with only two chapters of the manga remaining.
This is an end of an era for Monthly Shonen Sunday, especially as this award-winning romance series has been serialized there for the better part of the decade.
Award-Winning Teasing Master Takagi-san Manga Might Be Ending After a Decade
Teasing Master Takagi-san is a slice-of-life series by Soichiro Yamamoto that began in 2013. Yamamoto is also known for works such as When Will Ayumu Make His Move? and In the Heart of Kunoichi Tsubaki.
While Takagi-san isn’t exactly a unique series given that there are lots of romantic slice-of-life titles set in school, this manga is still highly praised for its comfy quality as well as the loveable dynamic of its two leads.
As of 2021, the manga has over 10 million copies in print, and it likely has more now given how popular the manga has become.
The series’ popularity is thanks in part to the anime adaptation by Shin-Ei Animation which featured three seasons and an anime film that was released last year.
Despite the fact that each season is annoyingly exclusive to different platforms, the series continued to have a solid fanbase.
Aside from being a commercial success, the manga is also praised by critics.
In fact, the series won the 66th Shogakukan Manga Award in the shonen category, an award that is shared with Chainsaw Man.

Teasing Master Takagi-san Reportedly Ending in October
It has been over a decade now since the manga began, and it seems like its run is finally coming to a close after over 170 chapters.
Recently, reports from notable manga insiders revealed that there are only two chapters left for Teasing Master Takagi-san before it ends. This likely doesn’t count Chapter 175 which will be released soon.
If these reports are confirmed, this will mean Teasing Master Takagi-san will end with Chapter 177 which will be released on October 12, 2023.
For now, there’s no official word yet, though an official ending announcement via the series’ official channels is likely to be made in the coming days.
