The much awaited action thriller is back as Taxi Driver season 2 returns with a bang. Starring Lee Je Hoon and the rest of the Rainbow Taxi team, the group is set to continue its mission to avenge victims against perpetrators.
After two years, viewers will get to see the favorite anti-hero Kim Do Gi along with his iconic transformation.
Based on the webtoon The Deluxe Taxi, the upcoming series depicts the story of a secret organization that carries out revenge on behalf of victims who are unable to get justice.
First aired in 2021, Lee Je Hoon’s drama made a significant success with a soaring viewership rating.
At the time, Taxi Driver was among the most-watched K-dramas and one of SBS’ highest-rated series of all time.
Interestingly, due to the public’s demand, the hit drama is making a comeback for the second season.
Taxi Driver Season 2 Release Date
On June 2022, SBS surprised viewers after they officially confirmed the release of Taxi Driver.
In a report cited by Soompi, the broadcast network shared that because of the “great love from viewers,” the action thriller series returns with a sequel.

With production starting in the first half of 2022, after a year of waiting, Taxi Driver season 2 will be officially released on February 17.
Viewers will get to watch the highly anticipated sequel via SBS and Viu TV.

During the start of the filming, production teams hint at what to expect in the upcoming series.
Taxi Driver season 2 will have a “more fun and in-depth season” and will witness growth among some of the main characters.
Taxi Driver Season 2 Cast
For the upcoming sequel, Taxi Driver 2 cast includes Lee Je Hoon who will reprise his role as Kim Do Gi, a former special forces officer bit now works as a driver for the Rainbow Taxi group.
Joining Lee Je Hoon is Kim Eui Sung, as Blue Bird Chairman and the brains behind the mysterious taxi group.
Apart from the two lead stars, Pyo Ye Jin, Jang Hyuk Jin, and Bae Yoo Ram will reprise their roles who will be completing the team.
During the announcement of the second season, SBS confirmed that Esom, who portrayed Prosecutor Kang Ha Na will not be joining Taxi Driver 2 cast due to scheduling conflicts.
On the other hand, Crash Course in Romance star Shin Jae Ha will join as the new rookie driver On Ha Joon.
