Taron Egerton Confirms That He Won't Be Involved in Kingsman 3

Matthew Vaughn's first two Kingsman films have focused on the superspy Eggsy (played by Taron Egerton) but the third film won't star Egerton.

During a recent interview with Yahoo! Movies UK ahead of Egerton's new film, Robin Hood, the actor was asked about the third Kingsman film, which was said to be a prequel of the first two. According to the actor, he won't be part of the third Kingsman film.

"I don't know how hot off the press this is, and I think I'm allowed to say it, but I'm not in the next Kingsman movie," he revealed.

Fans of the series may be disappointed to hear this news but don't worry. Egerton went on to say that he isn't done with the franchise for good. He and Vaughn still talk about their plans for the future Kingsman films in the future so he will most likely play Eggsy again.

"That doesn't mean I won't be in Kingsman ever again," Egerton said. "I was with Matthew [Vaughn] as little as a few days ago, we're still very much in business together, but his next journey in that world doesn't involve me."

Egerton said that Vaughn had told him the plan for the prequel, and he said that its premise is exciting even if his character is not involved.

"His idea for the new one is incredibly exciting," Egerton said. "I'm sad that I won't be on that journey with him but it's not the last you've seen of Eggsy."
