Taika Waititi Honors Stan Lee With Awesome Thor: Ragnarok BTS Photo

Celebrities have been paying tribute to Stan Lee since the comic book icon's unfortunate passing earlier this week. While most posts have been touching, Taika Waititi decided to share the awesome side of Stan The Man with a cool behind-the-scenes photo from Thor: Ragnarok.

Waititi posted the picture on his official Twitter account. The image shows the Ragnarok director with star Chris Hemsworth and the most terrifying barber in the universe played by Lee. Take a look at the tweet below.

"We Stan a Leegend," Waititi wrote, adding the hashtags #ripStanLee and #Marvel. It's a sweet yet funny throwback to Lee's cameo in Ragnarok, where he played the only character that Thor ever truly feared.

Lee is credited for co-creating Thor as well as several other Marvel characters like Spider-Man, Iron Man, The X-Men, Hulk, Fantastic Four, Daredevil, Doctor Strange, Black Panther, and Ant-Man. Although he retired from Marvel in the 1990s, Lee was still the best known comic book icon and was regularly asked to do a cameo in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Fans were saddened by Lee's passing but can rest assured that Stan the Man will still show up in the next two MCU films. Lee had reportedly shot his cameo scenes for Captain Marvel and the still-untitled Avengers 4. He was reportedly interested in filming more cameos for future movies before he passed away at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles on November 12. He was 95 years old.

Lee returns in Captain Marvel, which premieres on March 8, 2019, as well as Avengers 4, which is scheduled for release on May 3, 2019.
