Swamp Thing TV Series Reportedly Nabs Len Wiseman As Pilot Episode Director

DC might be busy preparing for the release of Jason Momoa's first standalone film as Arthur Curry, but that doesn't mean that the studio's going to disregard the shows it has planned for its upcoming streaming platform, DC Universe.

DC Universe's live-action series the Swamp Thing is gearing up for production and rumor has it that Len Wiseman, the creator of Underworld, might be the director of the show's pilot episode.

According to Splash Report, "multiple sources" have told them that Warner Brothers has decided to tap Wiseman to direct the very first episode of the DC Universe's Swamp Thing series. The show is expected to begin production this fall, and filming is set to take place in Wilmington, NC.

Right now, there's no knowing whether the rumors of Wiseman taking on the helm of Swamp Things's pilot episode is true, however, the director has worked on the pilot episodes of other Warner Brothers series before like Sleepy Hollow, Lucifer, ABP, Gifted, and of course, Hawaii Five-O.

If it is true that Wiseman is being tapped to work on Swamp Thing, then the director will be working the scripts of Mark Verheiden and Gary Dauberman who also serve as the series' showrunners.

Right now Swamp Thing doesn't have an exact release date, however, the series is expected to premiere in the DC Universe sometime in 2019.
