The cameras have reportedly started to roll for the new K-drama series, The Girl Downstairs, featuring Suzy and Yang Se Jong.
After the success of Coupang Play’s Anna, fans will once again see Suzy in the much-anticipated Netflix original drama series. So, here’s everything you need to know about The Girl Downstairs.
The Girl Downstairs Plot
The Girl Downstairs is based on the hit webtoon series of the same name written and illustrated by Songah Min.
It follows the story of Lee Doo Na (Suzy), a stunning idol who decides to retire early from the music scene, and Lee Woon Joon (Yang Se Jong), an ordinary college student, per AllKpop.
Lee Doo Na is the main vocalist of the girl group Dream Sweet. She’s also attending Minsong University and is part of the Department of Theater and Film.

Despite being unpredictable, she possesses gorgeous looks and a unique aura.
Lee Doo Na and Lee Woon Joon’s paths will cross after they end up living together in a shared house.

The Girl Downstairs Casting
Back in March, news emerged that Suzy was working on selecting her next K-drama series.
She was said to be offered a new lead role in the upcoming Netflix series The Girl Downstairs.
Her agency, Management SOOP, confirmed the news and revealed its talent was still reviewing the offer at the time, Soompi reported.

After a month, Xposrtsnews revealed, via Soompi, that Yang Se Jong was offered to join Suzy in the said show.
“It is true that Yang Se Jong received an offer to star in The Girl Downstairs and he is positively reviewing [the offer],” his agency, Blossom Entertainment, announced.
This will be the Dr. Romantic star’s first acting project after returning from his mandatory military service.

The Girl Downstairs will be directed by Lee Jung Hyo, who is also behind the successful K-dramas Crash Landing on You, Life on Mars and Romance is a Bonus Book. There are no words yet on when it will be out on Netflix.
