Suzy officially broke her 4-year hiatus in the music industry by releasing her new song, Satellite.

Four years after releasing her second extended play, Faces of Love, as a soloist, Suzy officially made a comeback in February by dropping her highly-anticipated digital single, Satellite. The K-pop idol surprised her fans even more by uploading a music video featuring Street Woman Fighter star Monika.

The former Miss A member reportedly participated in writing the song’s lyrics, which tackles a person’s feelings of being with someone while longing for something that can never be reached.

After dropping the song, Suzy shared more details about it and how the song helped her experience the best part of music making.

Suzy Shows Love For Satellite

Suzy recently posed for Marie Claire magazine’s latest issue and shared details about her single in an interview with them.

The K-pop idol said that Satellite gave her the chance to discover what she likes.

“In this song, I wanted to capture the atmosphere rather than delivering intentions or messages clearly and plainly. Thinking about the attributes of a ‘satellite,’ I wrote about things that couldn’t be reached and were wandering around,” she said.

She also took her time to praise Monika – the lead of her music video. Per Suzy, she liked Street Woman Fighter, the show where Monika appeared. She added that the dancer was a muse who was able to fill her song with spontaneous and graceful dance.

Per the K-pop star, Monika showed different moves that perfectly expressed the song.

Suzy To Give Fans Another Gift!

Aside from her new song, Suzy is set to lead the new Netflix series, The Girl Downstairs. Her agency, Management SOOP, said that the actress is already in talks to star in the drama and is currently reviewing the offer.

The Girl Downstairs is based on Naver’ webtoon about ex-idol Lee Du Na, who ends up living with college freshman Lee Jon Won in shared housing.

Once Suzy signs up for the role, she would play the lead character’s role, the main vocalist of the girl group Dream Sweet who suddenly decides to retire.

The Girl Downstairs is yet to set a target release date, but Romance is a Bonus Book and Crash Landing On You director Lee Jung Hyo will be part of the team.
