NCT Chenle faced a health issue before the release of NCT DREAM’s second-full-length album.

This month, NCT Dream’s official Twitter account confirmed that the K-pop boy group would be making a comeback. The page shared an interesting nine-second clip featuring the word Glitch Mode in different fonts and colors.

The newest project will be available to the public starting March 28. It will also mark the sub-unit’s first release for this year – nine months after their last release, Hello Future.

But days before the highly-anticipated return, NCT DREAM member Chen delivered worrying news about his health.

NCT Chenle Sustains Ankle Injury

SM Entertainment released an official statement on Wednesday regarding Chenle’s injury and his activities amid the health issue.

According to the label, he sustained the injury while preparing ahead of the release of NCT DREAM’s new album. It assured the fans that he is already receiving treatment for it.

“As the artist’s health is the top priority, we hoped Chenle would focus on recovering from his injury, but he expressed his desire to be part of the album activities and see the fans, so we have decided that he will participate in the schedule within reasonable bounds,” it said.

The agency asked for fans’ understanding since it would be difficult for the K-pop idol to perform the group’s choreography while recovering. Still, it pledged to focus on Chenle’s treatment and recovery so he could be well again soon.

NCT DREAM Now a Permanent Group

NCT DREAM’s comeback was supposed to be their first return as a complete, fixed group. SM Entertainment has since declared that the seven members -- Mark, Haechan, Jaemin, Chenle, Renjun, Jeno, and Jisung – would be permanent in the group.

With that, NCT DREAM now has all the time to focus on making their music better to win more awards and recognitions for the group.

Previously, their first studio album reached major commercial success when it scored 1.7 million pre-orders. At the same time, it became the best-selling album on Gaon Chart before winning the 31st Seoul Music Awards’ Best Album.

NCT DREAM’s Glitch Mode will highly likely follow its predecessors’ footsteps.
