Some people are still having trouble accepting that Supernatural is finally coming to an end after an amazing 14 seasons. Not surprisingly, even Jensen Ackles believes that there is a way for Dean Winchester to come back after Supernatural Season 15.

Ackles and co-star Jared Padalecki were recently in attendance at the Television Critics Association Summer Press Tour where they discussed what would happen in Supernatural Season 15 (via The Wrap). However, people were mostly interested in finding out if Sam and Dean Winchester will ever come back after the final season ends. Interestingly, Ackles suggested that he is keeping his options open when it comes to returning as the beloved character.

"I'm not ever ready to close doors or burn bridges, I think that's foolish," he said. "Am I saying there's something in the works? No. Am I saying I'm open to conversations in the future? Why not?"

That certainly sparks some hope in fans' hearts but for now, it might be time to (temporarily) say goodbye to the Winchesters.

"It's long journey that I don't think is ever going to be over," Ackles said. "I think we're just going to go away for a while. For how long, I don't know."

If you're wondering if there is any chance that Supernatural is getting a spin-off series where Sam and Dean can conveniently pop up, we'd hate to break the bad news. It was previously reported that The CW president Mark Pedowitz is not interested in pursuing a spin-off just yet.

"I've been involved in two spinoffs that did not connect. We've had no further discussions whatsoever in terms of a Supernatural spinoff. I tend to believe that, at this point, the show's essence is Jared and Jensen," Pedowitz said.

Supernatural Season 15 will air on The CW on October 10.
