Supermodel Gigi Hadid Could Be The Next Pink Power Ranger

Naomi Scott (The Martian, Terra Nova) has already been cast as the Pink Ranger in the upcoming reboot of Saban's Power Rangers. However, it looks like Saban Entertainment is open for one more Pink Ranger in the gang.

In a recent statement to EW, the owners of the Power Rangers franchise said they'd love to have Hadid on board the Power Ranger family:

Gigi represents everything a Power Ranger stands for — teamwork, strength, and friendship. We‘d love to have her as part of the Power Ranger family.

Back in 2014, when news of a Power Rangers reboot started coming out, the 20-year-old supermodel took to social media to campaign for the role of Pink Ranger.

That June, she tweeted: "#GiForce!!!! It's been announced that they're starting to cast for a new Power Rangers movie.. Let's get #GigiForPinkRanger trending."

Several times, Hadid has been seen wearing a Pink Ranger beanie, and just this morning, she did it again.

It remains unknown whether she'll actually be cast in the film. After all, Scott has already been cast as the titular character. However, with Saban calling out the supermodel in a statement, I won't be surprised if we'll be seeing her in the 2017 reboot.

Power Rangers Synopsis:

Saban's Power Rangers follows five ordinary high school kids who must become something extraordinary when they learn that their small town of Angel Grove – and the world – is on the verge of being obliterated by an alien threat. Chosen by destiny, our heroes quickly discover that they are the only ones who can save the planet. But to do so they will have to overcome their real-life issues and band together as the Power Rangers before it is too late.

Power Rangers hits theaters on March 24, 2017.
