David Denman Joins Power Rangers as Key Supporting Character

Power Rangers has cast David Denman, best known as Roy in The Office, as Sam Scott, the father of Dacre Montgomery's Jason Scott/Red Ranger.

What makes Denman's character so important is his role in keeping Jason grounded while on a journey with Earth's greatest heroes.

As reported by THR, Sam Scott is "at odds" with the football career of his son, Jason. It's left to the imagination how he'll react upon discovering his son is a superhero, especially since Jason's storyline involves him getting in a car accident that jeopardizes his football career for a time. Allowing his son join the superhero group would endanger his son's life further and it's expected that Sam will have objections to his son being the Red Ranger.

From the looks of it, Power Rangers is shaping up to be a somewhat dramatic film, which could potentially place it on the upcoming list of blockbuster films.

Denman previously appeared in films such as The Gift and 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi. His role in the new Power Rangers reboot will allow him to further explore his skills in a dramatic role.
