One of the most-anticipated Marvel series to hit Disney+ is The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. There are still a few months until the show's release and while details about the series are mostly kept under wraps, it looks like an Arrowverse star will be making his jump to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
According to Deadline, Supergirl star Carl Lumbly has joined the cast of The Falcon and The Winter Soldier. That being said, his role is in the series is yet to be revealed. Filming is already underway in Atlanta, so fans might get an idea of who the actor would play if set photos of Lumbly would ever surface.
As a callback to his work in the Justice League animated series where he provided the voice of Martian Manhunter, Lumbly appeared in The CW's Supergirl as the father of J'onn J'onzz. He also starred in Doctor Sleep as Dick Hallorran. Lumbly's recent TV credits also include This Is Us, Altered Carbon, Cagney & Lacey, Alias, and many more.
While his role is still undisclosed, the site mentioned the theory that Lumbly could potentially play Isaiah Bradley in the show. The character was introduced in Marvel Comics' Truth: Red, White, & Blue, a limited series from 2003. Isaiah is known as the "black Captain America," and is also the product of experiments on African-American soldiers in the recreation of the Super Soldier serum. Hence, becoming an alternate version of Captain America.
It'll be interesting to see a live-action version of the character but fans would have to wait and find out which character Lumbly will be playing when The Falcon and the Winter Soldier gets released in August.
