Sulli still has a huge place in people’s hearts years after her death.

Before rising to fame as a K-pop idol, she first made her debut as a child actress through Ballad of Seodong. Sulli’s charms continued to wow moviemakers and producers that she landed on more roles in the next years, including Drama City, Vacation, To The Beautiful You, and Punch Lady, among others.

She finally tried a new life with girl group (f)x and debuted with the four other members in 2019.

Although her popularity continued to rise since then, she suffered from bullying when she started dating Choiza from September 2013 to March 2017. Throughout their relationship, the former couple faced malicious comments, leading to Sulli's struggle with severe depression.

Although she already left for good, some of her fans still reminisced their memories with her and how she changed the K-pop industry’s standards.

Despite the scrutiny she suffered from, Sulli became a game-changer that she became the most Googled person in South Korea in 2017. She also got awards and nominations from different organizations like Mnet 20’s Choice Awards. Paeksang Arts Awards, and SBS Drama Awards.

Sulli And The Pressure She Suffered From

In 2019, Sulli was found dead six weeks before Goo Hara also committed suicide.

She was found dead on October 14, 2019, at her home, and the authorities who responded to the scene said there was no suspicion of foul play surrounding her death.

Before her tragic passing, she was still able to shoot an ad film and showed no signs of being depressive or distressed. However, she suffered from mental health issues after losing her friends when she publicized her relationship.

Eventually, she suspended her K-pop projects due to the abuse she suffered online, especially when she joined the no bra movement in the country.

Unfortunately, she suffered from the same fate her friend, SHINee’s Jonghyun, faced before claiming his life in 2017.
