Stranger Things Star Finn Wolfhard is Reportedly Joining the MCU

There is no doubt that the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) continues to grow, even so after the release of Avengers: Endgame thanks to Disney+ which created a new avenue for the franchise to tell more stories through the TV series format. With many projects that are currently in the works, a lot of notable actors are also joining the franchise. Now, one of the rising young actors in Hollywood has seemingly joined the cinematic universe.

Giant Freakin Robot has reported that Stranger Things and Ghostbusters: Afterlife star Finn Wolfhard has signed on to join an upcoming MCU project. However, they didn't provide details regarding which exact film or TV show or which character he might be playing in the franchise. We do have to take note that this didn't come from the major trades nor officially confirmed by Marvel so we have to take it with a grain of salt for now.

Assuming that the report is true, it is awesome to hear that Wolfhard might be joining the MCU since he is definitely a talented actor who would be great in a franchise like this. With so many characters in the Marvel catalog, the list of possible characters that he might play is also endless. He could play a young superhero, a villain, a friend, or some alien in another planet or universe. There are so many possibilities on what he might potentially play.

Wolfhard has also expressed in past interviews that he is interested to join the MCU so it's not hard to believe that he might be joining the franchise soon. He could be the second main cast member of Stranger Things to be part of the MCU after David Harbour, who played Red Guardian in Black Widow. In addition, Marvel Studios has been casting a lot of rising actors in Hollywood or newcomers who will have a great jump start by joining the franchise.

Since there is no confirmation from Marvel or any details about the project that he might join, all we can do for now is speculate about his potential role in the franchise which we know would be a somewhat major role since he is currently one of the most in-demand young actors today. We should be hearing more possible details soon.
